Hello stranger, I’m Gábor.
Growing up in a small village in Eastern Hungary, one of my earliest scent memories was the mineral, volcanic soil of my grandparents' vineyard. My brother and I often spent our summers there, and helping out with the grape harvest in autumn. Since then, smell and memory have always been a part of me through food, travel or the simplest everyday things. One sniff can take you back to a place where you once felt something deep and real.
As an introvert, I tend to listen and observe more than I speak. Often, I find myself smelling something before deciding what I think of it.
I love the smell of lilac, morning dew, petrol and freshly washed, sun-dried linen.
By education I’m a pharmacist. This background has sparked my fascination for the physiology behind how we experience scents.
How chemistry turns into soul, how science can feel human.
That curiosity led me to follow my gut and start illatos; to explore the slower, calmer side of perfume.
My goal is to curate and introduce independent niche perfume brands and creators to Scandinavia through stories, memories, feelings and of course scent itself.
For me, perfume is more than just a product or a trend, it's memory, connection, emotion. It’s art. Expressing something that words can't.
